Issue 4

Well folks there is a week and a half left in the regular season with alot of races left to be settled. While teams are needing wins as well as help from other teams, there is something no one wants... three-point games. I would love if Bettman would abolish this one point for an overtime or shootout loss. IMO it would be alot more exciting for the fans, and is that not what Bettman wants? With 5 minutes to go in the third period teams would not skate up to center and dump the puck. Wait on our blue-line and do it again to secure the one point and then wait to OT to go for that extra point. If there was no one point for a loss in extra time then teams would be forced to go balls to the wall for a full 60+ minutes.
Found a spectacular website that tells mathematically a teams chances to make the playoffs. http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Western.html
As I sit here eating chili on a bun and drinking a glass of milk I look over this site to see just how good of a shot teams have to make it to the next season and who will be golfing in 2 weeks.

Canucks swimming to the Northwest division win with the Calgary Wicks losing their flame. Looks as though the Wicks will finish 5th and play Chicago in the first round. Or maybe even slip to 6th and play Vancouver first round. This late slide from the Flames leaves fans singing "Love me, hate me, say whatcha want about me. All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin to if you seek amy" ... Ya. I said it. The Flames sure have 'if you seek eighty' this chance for another division win.

Mac T... After the Oilers score twice to get within one late in the third against the Ducks, he makes a call which could have made him a genius. But instead... his job has been questioned and his call has been viewed as a sabatoge to a late surge from the Oil. Alberta hockey teams are in need of a huge bounce back game tonight to help silence the critics. Calgary to get back into the Division lead and Edmonton to get back into the playoff picture.

Was Bettman on crack? The Flames have 6 games remaining, including tonight against Dallas. For the 6 games they play them all in back to back nights. Today Dallas and Tomorrow Minny. Monday LA and Tuesday Vancouver. Then a home and home with Edmonton to finish the regular season next Friday-Saturday. This will surely be a test for Calgary.

6 Straight losses for Marty and the Devils. Now in danger of giving up their division lead to Philly or the surging Penguins.

Panthers look to make the playoffs after promising their fans they will be in the second season. If they fail to make the post-season their fans will be treated to 4 free games. If there is a market other than Columbus and Atlanta that could use the playoffs it is Florida. I would like to see the Panthers overtake the Canadiens for 8th in the east. I have loved all the turmoil in Montreal this season. I strongly dislike this team and if my Oilers are going to miss the playoffs then Montreal better as well. Kovalev, Koivu, Komiserek, Price, Plekanec, all among my least favourite players. I'm quite bias.

I'll leave this post with...
Fire Mac T... bring aboard either Pat Quinn or Mark Messier. The Oil's young plethera of talent need a coach that will bring out the best in them every night. Mac T has failed to do that. 3 playoff births in 8 years. Ya ok one run to game 7 of the Cup Finals but with what looks to be another year of early golfing I think it's time to say thanks for your time but we need to go in a different direction. With Kevin Lowe as GM it would have been hard for him to fire former teammate Craig, but with Steve Tambellini it will be an easier thing to do.

*Thanks to Britney Spears for the If You Seek Amy lyrics*
